A lone cowboy arrives in a small town on Christmas Day, only to be arrested for not paying his bill at a local cafe. The townsfolk, feeling guilty about their treatment of a Mexican family living on Christmas Mountain, bail him out and ask him to bring gifts to the family. While there, the young boy of the family befriends the cowboy and prays for his well-being. An unexpected visit from the cowboy's deceased friend offers him a chance to turn his life around, starting by confronting the townspeople about their inadequate charity towards the Mexican family.
