Buck and Jessica, who met while escaping a forest fire, are planning their first holiday season together with his family, who all work in the Wayne Forest ranger service. Their Thanksgiving is interrupted when Buck is called away to assist with an avalanche rescue, which gets extended due to the impending difficult avalanche season.
