The Yoshi family, a middle-class family, moves from the city to the suburbs of Tokyo, where they face challenges adjusting to their new neighborhood. The two adolescent sons, Keiji and Ryoichi, struggle with bullying and eventually find friendship and protection in a local delivery boy, Kozou.
