A King in New York

A former European monarch's life takes an unexpected turn in New York City, where he becomes the unwitting focus of a mistaken Communist hunt after a series of unfortunate events unfold.

King Shahdov, a monarch forced into exile by a revolution, arrives in New York with limited finances. He turns to television commercials to make ends meet, only to be mistaken for a communist by authorities after befriending a child from a communist family. Shahdov must then face the scrutiny of a McCarthy-era hearing.
