Paul, a novelist, rents a secluded cottage to focus on his new book, a sex-themed novel. He's struggling with writer's block and plagued by nightmares. He employs a secretary, Linda, to type his manuscript. When she's attacked by some youths, Paul intervenes and later Linda seeks revenge by killing them. As Paul's nightmares continue, he makes advances on Linda, but she rejects him.
