A failed professional golfer, Roy "Tin Cup" McAvoy, manages a rundown driving range in Salome, West Texas. To pay off debts, he signs over the range to a madam of "show girls". His golf pupil, Dr. Molly Griswold, a novice psychiatrist, becomes his girlfriend, but she's also the partner of a slick PGA superstar, David Simms.
