A renowned neuroscientist, Dr. Matthew Campbell, creates a serum from vampire bat blood to unlock human minds, but becomes addicted and ill. Before his death, he warns a fellow doctor, Paul Beecher, about the dangers of the serum. Paul finds a bottle of pills and takes one, leading to a series of gruesome transformations as he becomes a violent, hairy killer with no memory of his crimes. As the killings continue, a new nurse arrives, and the police and scientists must uncover the identity of the killer before it's too late.
