Slingshot Hip Hop background

Slingshot Hip Hop

In the midst of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a new wave of Palestinian rappers harnesses the power of music to voice their thoughts and defy the prevailing norms.

Palestinian youth use hip hop to express themselves and channel their anger in the '48 (Israel) and occupied territories (Gaza and the West Bank). We follow DAM, a group from '48, and PR, an emerging trio from Gaza, as they compose and perform music. The camera captures their daily lives, including their struggles with military presence and restrictions on movement. Despite these challenges, the youth use their music to connect with each other and express their hopes and frustrations.
