Despite this display, the monks refuse his request to become a disciple of the Shaolin Abbot. Moved by the boy's determination, the Abbot decides to test his skills by assigning him to tend to the temple's vegetable fields. Meanwhile, the boy is eager to learn more kung fu techniques. However, his peaceful existence is disrupted when the king of Chu arrives at the temple, revealing that the boy is actually a fugitive on his most-wanted list.
