NO MILK NO HONEY background

NO MILK NO HONEY

A group of disillusioned British veterans, struggling to find purpose after the Great War, embark on a fresh start in Western Australia, drawn to the promise of a new life on dairy farms.

After World War I, many British ex-soldiers joined the jobless lines. A film and brochure campaign promising a fresh start on a dairy farm in Western Australia lured unsuspecting families to migrate under the Group Settlement Scheme. However, instead of the promised paradise, settlers faced a harsh and unforgiving environment, with a strict lifestyle. Despite the challenges, those who stayed persevered, transforming the land into lush pastures and turning the region into the "land of milk and honey" it is today.
