Alex Fletcher, a washed-up 80's pop star, struggles to make a living off his nostalgia gigs at school reunions and state fairs. Desperate for a comeback, he teams up with teen idol Cora Corman to write a new song. However, he lacks a lyricist and has only a week to finish the project. He enlists the help of Sophie Fisher, a talented poet who is initially hesitant due to a mysterious shadow in her past. As they work together, Alex must navigate Sophie's emotional baggage and confront the uncertainty of their collaboration's future.
