Tess and her husband Mark move into a luxurious house, convinced it's a good investment despite its unusually low price. Unbeknownst to them, the previous owners died in a murder-suicide. As Tess gets to know their neighbors, she becomes uneasy about the strange occurrences and decides to investigate the murders. She finds a crime reporter who was heavily involved in the case and has since become an alcoholic. Through her research and conversations with the reporter, Tess discovers that one of her neighbors may have been involved in the deaths, putting her own life at risk.
