Long Echo background

Long Echo

The film "Long Echo" explores the aftermath of a devastating explosion, as a city grapples with the consequences of the Maidan revolution, a catastrophic event that has deeply divided the nation.

The documentary "Long Echo" explores the lives of people in Dobropolje, a region in eastern Ukraine, 70 km from the separatist border. Despite the ongoing conflict, the protagonists are inventive and resilient, redirecting a nightclub, building a zoo with smuggled chameleons, playing in a heavy metal band, and driving a taxi. The film showcases the daily struggles of those on the periphery of the war, as they adapt to new circumstances and react to their changing needs. The directors, Veronika Glasunowa and Lukasz Lakomy, built a relationship of trust with the locals before the war, allowing them to gain extraordinary insights into the lives of those affected.
