Gentlemen Marry Brunettes background

Gentlemen Marry Brunettes

Two talented sisters, bound by blood and Broadway experience, leave the New York stage behind to pursue stardom in the City of Light, Paris.

The story follows two sisters, Bonnie and Connie Jones, who are Broadway performers and part of a sibling duo with their mother and aunt. The sisters receive numerous marriage proposals, with Connie rejecting them all and Bonnie accepting every offer. The sisters receive a job offer to perform in France, where they meet their promoters and soon gain success. However, they are offered jobs at Parisian casinos that involve revealing clothing, which they decline. Eventually, they agree to a performance where their bodies are hidden beneath long feathers. Their mother orders them to return home, disapproving of their situation.
