For four centuries, the Roman Empire governed Britain, offering stability and security in exchange for loyalty. During this period, they constructed Hadrian's Wall along the northern frontier to repel the Picts, a fierce and enigmatic tribe known for their blue body paint. However, by the fifth century, the Romans had abandoned Britain, leaving King Vortigern to lead the people in their struggle for survival.
