Blackmail

A young woman, Alice White, is accused of murdering a man after defending herself against his attempted rape. Her boyfriend, a detective at Scotland Yard, is assigned to the case and discovers evidence that implicates Alice. However, instead of turning her in, he decides to clear her name by framing a wanted criminal who knows the truth. The question remains whether this plan will work and whether Alice's conscience will allow an innocent man to be charged with the crime.
